JOHN WINN

 PHOTOGRAPHER / VIDEOGRAPHER
 PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATOR

DEDICATION

TO THE ART OF IMAGERY

John grew up moving quite around a bit as a kid, never spending more than a 4-5 years in any one place. His fathers job in the government required transfers similar to that of a military family. At the age of 17, John enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would find himself for the next 10 years as a Munitions Systems specialist.

Always with a passion for film, John decided to leave the Air Force in 2011 to pursue his dream of one day becoming a filmmaker. Having been filming and editing on his own for several years, he decided to hone his craft and enrolled in college full time at Boise State University after leaving the Air Force.

John graduated with honors from Boise State University in the Spring of 2014. Even prior to graduating, he began working full time as a Video Production Specialist for HP in Boise. He's competed several times in the i48 film festival and won Best Film in the novice division in 2012 along with a great supporting team of local filmmakers better known as "the Blind Filmmakers". In 2018, he relocated to Utah where he is looking to continue his filmmaking ambitions.

John continues his military service in the Utah Air National Guard and lives in South Ogden, Utah with his wife Patricia and their dogs Lucy and Canela. He has continued with his education by earning his Master of Science in Communication from Purdue University in 2017. When not working or studying, you can find John mountain biking or snowboarding in the Utah mountains or enjoying a relaxing weekend by a campfire.
